The Megger EZ-Thump 4kV Portable Cable Fault Location System is an advanced tool designed to locate faults in shielded and unshielded low voltage cables. The EZ-Thump 4kV feature a single-stage 500 J surge (4 kV model) for pinpointing high resistance faults. The unit battery and AC line operation are portable, lightweight, and weather-resistant, making them ideal for outdoor use in industrial, streetlight, and utility applications. The EZ-Thump 4kV systems combine advanced technologies, such as Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) and Arc Reflection Method (ARM®), to effectively locate faults with up to 7.6 km of range.
This product is equipped with a 5.7-inch HiBrite TFT LCD display, the systems provide clear, easy-to-read results even in bright outdoor conditions. The EZ-Thump 4kV user-friendly interface includes an emergency stop function, key-switch interlock, and the ability to operate both via a rotary control knob and the simple E-Tray GUI. The unit has a memory for storing 1000 traces, users can quickly access past results. The EZ-Thump 4kV units are ideal for both fault prelocation and pinpointing, making them a reliable choice for cable fault detection and diagnostics.
